How they could even think about voting Republican, but yet they do, at a 45% pace. Most of the new GOP politicos in the SW and Florida are Hispanics. Why? Is it that they are still so hung up on the Bay of Pigs? Is it Bush's Amnesty program? I hear pundits say it is because they like the GOP's pro family message...And what is the GOP's pro family message? That it's OK to have millions of kids w/o health insurance? it's OK to let families go hungry because Hispanics are being paid $6 an hour to work a full time job? What is it? Or is it because some of the GOP's newest most right win hate mongers are Hispanics...like Mr.Estrada and the gentleman who is being mentioned as an attorney general or Supreme Court nominee? SOme of the views of Hispanic Republicans are very right and some of them endorse gay bashing, hate of African Americans, etc....
I would like to remind the Hispanics nationwide that it is the Democrats who are the ones championing your causes...increased living wage, health care, personal freedoms, citizenship incentives, and there are a large number of Gay Hispanics who have been pushed into the closet by the Hisnapic Republicans...Demecrats believe familes come in all shapes, sizes, colors, sexual orientation...
I urge our Hispanic Democrats to go out and engage their neighbors and tell them our message..
Because the GOP only sees you as something they can use to keep you poor and on their side by saying their pro family and anti-Castro, meanwhile they cut the money you can send your familes back home and they keep you poor so the only alternative your children have is to join the GOP war machine...How is that Pro-Family?

Arlen Specter...he already has come out and warned Bushie not to select a Supreme Court Justice that will overturn Roe v Wade...

Lincoln Chaffee..has said he does not agree with the new direction of the GOP and would consider a change to Indy or Dem...

John McCain..he doesn't like the neo cons and he only half heartedly supported Bushie...

I see big time infighting in the GOP in the next 2 years as the more moderates get bossed around by the hard righters and that could lead to the above 3 defecting to at least become Independents..
That would shift control from 55-44-1 to 52-44-4
which would take it back to what it was before Tuesday...
Specter is disenchanted with his party's direction, Chaffee is on the verge of turning and McCain has been rumored to be leaving the party for a few years now...
Concentrate on these 3 and try to turn them around...
They are more like us than they are like them...

Ok, so most people that voted for the GOP say that morals were the #1 issue, but look closer at that party and I would hardly say that they represent morality as it is interpreted in any form including their favorite thing, the bible.
1.How is it moral to have a country where 45 million people are not insured and other untold millions are underinsured?
2.How is it moral that millions of working families need to decide between going hungry, getting medication, heating their home, or seeking medical attention with the worry that they can't afford it?
3.How is it moral to lie about the reasons for going to war then keep asking the country's young men and women to die for a mistake?Yes, a mistake and we need to pound that home.
4.How is it that they can claim the high moral ground, yet one of the Senate candidates they fielded was a beer company CEO. Alcoholism is one of our country's most pressing problems.
5.How is it moral to cut taxes for the richest 1% of people and give tax breaks to company's to outsource jobs when the tax burden on the middle class , who are working longer for less money and shouldering more and more of the rising cost of living?
How is any of this moral? And why are we not hammering this home now...
As we get into the local elections of 2005, the mid terms of 2006, and the next election in 2008 we need to borrow the Clinton line that stated
"Don't let the next generation of Americans grow to be the first to be worse off than their parents."
As for me , just to put my money where my mouth is, I'm holding a neighborhood meeting in my Ward to discuss the possibility of running against my incumbent 6 term Republican Ward Councilor. He was a Democrat until 9/11 then got blinded and became a total Bush/Romney backer. I'm a local businessman who has actually created jobs and actually offers my employees health insurance. I've got some thinking to do.

Guiliani or Romney may get Ridge's spot
What about Sec of Defense and Attorney General?
Maybe he'll take a couple of senators from states that have Dem Governors so we can pick up a couple of seats...

A large group of college students marched through Boston tonight carrying a casket draped with an American flag and lowered the casket into the Boston Harbor. We all had candles and distinguished them as the casket hit the water..

People in Rhode Island, you have a very moderate reasonable Republican senator there in Lincoln Chaffee. He has gone ont he record on such shows as Tavis Smiley saying that he is disenchanted with his party. Call him up and implore him to switch parties. Even if he becomes an independent who caucuses with Democrats. Call him. Mail Him. Email Him. Implore him that his party isn't representative of his or your views...It doesn't hurt..Plus he's in Rhode Island, I don't think he'll have to worry about losing his seat at anytime soon..it'll make it 54-44 with 2 Indys at least...

Well congrats you got your guy re-elected. Good job.You stooped to the lowest standards ever to do it, but you did it. Now, I wanna just let you all know a few things that we all will be watching for very closely.
1.Those of you that voted for Bush and have kids between the ages of 18-27, I don't wanna hear a peep out of you when the draft comes for them. You lost your right to protest by voting for your hero.
2.When the defecit doesn't go down but only grows, I wanna hear you all try to defend that.
3.When we hit another, longer, deeper recession, none of you better dare make a peep about it or I'll get THE ROCK to lay the smackdown on you.
4.When the troop deaths in Iraq and elsewhere keep piling up, I don't wanna hear any of you patronize them, because you are all now just as responsible for their deaths as your hero is.
5.And lastly, when, not if, when Al Qaeda hits us and hits us harder than they did before, I wanna hear just one of you say how we're so much safer.

I refuse to have any sympathy for any of the sheep, because they deserve it , all of it.
